A little bit of Adee!


“Adalee and Kurt sitting in a tree. K-I-S-S-I-N-G. “
Ever since then, second grade, Kurt and I were best friends. Until 8th grade when we became boyfriend and girlfriend. I guess everyone thought we were going to be together. It was never Adalee, it was Adalee and Kurt.
“Adee, come on! Tonight is the night. You’ve got to do it! We’re in 11th grade…it’s time!”
It was time. I needed to move on. Date new people. Break up with Kurt.
“Okay, I’m going.” The doorbell rang. Kurt was right there in front of me. I could see him smiling as I opened the door, cute dimples.
“Hey Adee!” He grabbed me in a tight hug.
“Hey.” I said, pushing away. Annie, my friend who helped me prepare for this break up, hid so Kurt would not see her.
This would be our last date.
“You look really good Adalee.”
“Thanks.” I looked up into his sparkling eyes. I had to break up now. Or I might lose it.
“Listen Kurt, we need to talk.” He looked up.
“About us?” he questioned.
“Yes, it’s just…”
“sh-h-h.” he whispered.
“What?” I questioned.
“I know.” He said in a sweet tone.
“You do?” I said.
“Yeah, It’s okay. Don’t hide your feelings.”
“Well…I thought---“
“That I would be scared to ask?”
“Ask? Ask what?” I responded confused.
“Don’t worry, I’m not scared.”
He got on one knee.
“Adee, will you marry me?”
“Kurt! Why do you have to make this hard? I’m sorry, you must have misunderstood. I came here to tell you... I don’t think it’s working between us. I want to break up.”
He stood up dazed.
